Last night, Girls were the musical guests on Conan, playing “Love Like A River,” one of many standouts from Stereogum’s favorite album of last year, while wearing their finest thrift-store clothes. (Shout out to JR White’s varsity Niners jacket.) Their whole setup, complete with female backup singers and flower bouquets on mic stands, is just what you’ll see from them on tour, and they also managed to sound nearly as great on TV as they do onstage. Watch it below.
Girls’ Father, Son, Holy Ghost is out now on True Panther.

Stellar performance.
Excellent performance!
Thumbs down for the varsity jacket though. Over the top hipster branding!
They’re from San Francisco and he wore a 49ers jacket; I think that’s pretty great.
Yeah good point… I’ve been reading too much Hipster Runoff.
I still think the HBO show is better. /joke
Owens tweeted about that. He’s not happy.

…I don’t think he’s being serious guys.
Perfection.
This album is dope and that song is my favorite.
I really gotta see them live. Excellent job, fellas.
They sounded SO good. And I will always love white Jazzmasters.
