We gave you the supposedly “darker,” somewhat familiar Fall Be Kind tracklist of “Graze,” “What Would I Want Sky,” “Bleed” (not “Bleeding“), “On A Highway,” and “I Think I Can.” The EP’s cover art does look sufficiently dark (piper at the gates of bong?) and these 30 second samples at Amazon UK (via GvsB) seem to confirm the descriptor. The Fall Be Kind EP is out digitally 11/23 and on CD and 12″ 12/15 via Domino. So even though this “I Think I Can” clip is a total tease, you won’t have to wait too long to hear the whole thing.

The cover makes me think instantly of Murmer and Mummer even more…Mummer’s very spring actually…I adore AnCo for being sensitive to these things….

  2. Even from these clips I would say this is surely a 9.2+

I thougt first when I read the headline that the Animal Collective was permitting everybody to sample Fall Be Kind, like A Tribe Called Quest has given permission to sample their work without any clearence. That would have been interesting

  4. From those samples I got a sense of Feels.

    • Exactly, and this is what makes me so happy. “Feels” has such a nice dynamic of joyous tribal rock songs with mellower soundscapes that gave it such a mighty cohesion. And as much as I love it, I really could have used some of these types of songs on “Merriweather”.

To see this EP exploring this facet of their sound, using the tools they damn near perfected on MPP, is quite exciting. The 23rd can’t come soon enough.
