
We’ve already heard “Live To Rise,” Soundgarden’s contribution to the Avengers soundtrack, which also happens to be that band’s first new song in a decade and a half. But Soundgarden aren’t the only grunge veterans who have a song in that particular blockbuster movie. The perennially troubled-but-talented Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland — apparently done with Christmas music for now — has a big, searching belter called “Breathe” in the movie, and it is finally-aged corporate power-ballad cheese.
