We got to talking about ’70s bong hits when posting the video for psychedelic San Francisco sextet Sleepy Sun’s “White Dove,” a sludgy stoner-pop track from their debut Embrace. Visually, the Brandon Rein-directed clip for the sludgy Blue Öyster Cult-via-Stendhal of “Red/Black,” is angstier/less mellowed than its predecessor: It opens with home gardening gone awry before we watch two women vampirically feeding each other chocolate-dripped strawberries and our protagonist gets out-of-his-mind paranoid, passes out. So, yes, we’re talking bong hits again.

Embrace is out via ATP. ” Here’s an MP3 from the recent Sleepy Son EP.
