The new Sigur Rós album Valtari is imminent, and we’ve already heard the early tracks “Ekki Múkk,” “Kvistur,” and “Varúð.” Last night, another new song called “Dauðalogn” debuted on the season finale of The Vampire Diaries, a CW undead-teenager melodrama that my wife keeps insisting I would like if I gave it a chance. The shimmering, ethereal track, it turns out, makes a pretty great score for what appear to be some extremely dramatic events. The video below is full of spoilers, so beware, but it’ll give you a chance to hear the song.

Valtari is out 5/29 on XL.

All I know is that the one vampire ghost thing sounds a lot like Jon Hamm, I was waiting for him to pitch a product.
Wow, I closed the tab after pressing play and you’re totally right. We got a Jon Hampire.
I liked Nina Dobrev better when she played “Mia,” the single teen mom-turned-model-turned-slutty-model-turned-respectable-French model-who-was-too-good-for-Degrassi High on Degrassi, and as we all know, every song sounds so much better when it accompanies a dramatic moment on Degrassi.
Also, have male hairstyles changed at all since the CW came into existence over a decade ago as the WB.
