I do tend to THINK of them as the Projectors closest relatives….
“New Attitude” is far and away my favorite collection of Dirty Projectors songs. “Two Young Sheeps,” “Fucked For Life,” etc. All showcase the project in it’s weirdest, funkiest incarnation. I also highly recommend searching for an mp3 of the song “Maarket Air” from a not-so-old compilation called “Demons & Rare Meat” — another very great track from this era of DP. I think they have it on iTunes…
Anyway, not a huge Vampire Weekend fan, but this guy seems nice enough.
