Feist - "Cicadas And Gulls" Video

Feist’s video for the Metals track “Cicadas And Gulls” isn’t exactly a music video; it’s more of a conceptual live performance. In the clip, Feist, with the members of Mountain Man on backing harmonies, croons the song while strumming an acoustic guitar on a street corner while two members of the Oakland dance crew Turf Feinz perform a few deliriously awesome moves around her. The best parts revolve around air-guitar, which has never, in the history of the universe, looked so cool. Watch it below.

Metals is out now on Cherrytree/Interscope. Buy it from eMusic. She also just released a limited-edition vinyl reissue of her 1999 debut album Monarch.

  1. That elvis move the mohawk guy did was spot on

  2. From the title down to the chords, I’m always surprised to find this isn’t an Iron & Wine song.

Fun video though. Good job video people.

  3. so proud of my wife here. great job, leslie!

  4. Sorry, but this all seemed incredible awkward. Hip Hop dancers with no beat and soft Canadian lady-music don’t mix for me.
