Continuing the recent run of summertime videos, Goldfrapp’s “Caravan Girl” follows a skateboarder from her caravan park home base across town, past the oceans, down highways, and through tunnels, armed with her trusty radio, checkerboard kicks, and warm breezes. She stops to eat breakfast (in time lapse), do some doodling, make origami, pet a horse, walk the tracks, and visit the beach, but otherwise she’s street surfing. When she hits the hill, it’s reminiscent of the Knife’s “Heartbeats.” Except she’s alone. Any relation to “Graveyard Girl“?

Maybe she’s the partner for the pogo dude in the “Happiness” video? Whatever the case, her warm weather attire is definitely more successful than what Goldfrapp wore on Leno.

  1. Beautiful, soulful video. Reminded me of Mike Mill’s AIR video for “All I Need.” Anyone know who directed this one?

  2. Nice song too. Good to see them back in touch with there pastoral selves after so much disco superficiality!
