Nate Martinez (formerly of Pela) will release an album through his Thieving Irons project this summer, and the first cut from that, “So Long,” revealed a nice thick slice of verdant indie rock. So, here’s his new video for the latest single “Poision,” which kind of plays out like a quick thumbing of your Instagram dashboard, in a good way. Watch it below.

The video was good, but the song is the really keeper here. I love the rhythm and how the hooks are hidden in the background harmony. It really really makes me miss Pela.
I have hopes that someday Pela will reappear and all will be right with the world again.
