In “Winter Games,” L.A.’s multi-tasking Fool’s Gold-associated Foreign Born gave us a colorfully hazy, slow dissolving dance off (and on). This time out, for fellow Person To Person track “Early Warnings,” they teamed up with Matthew Lessner, who got Dirty Projectors into the mountains (and jumpsuits) for “Stillness Is The Move,” gave Fools Gold a second chance at “Surprise Hotel,” and most recently set up the blue screen for the Raveonettes’ “Last Dance.” The results? Matt, Ariel, Lewis, and Floyd (above) hop on a small plane and then a boat to “Uncharted Reaches” to discover all sorts of wildlife/adventure.

Perfect timing. I fly home for the holidays in time to catch them in LA, and I’ll be back in Chicago for the next swing. This is one of my top three albums of the year.
