The slinky Brooklyn BTW Friends will soon release their debut album Manifest!, and we’ve already heard a bunch of early tracks like “Mind Control” and “Home.” Right now, the entire LP is streaming below, so give it a listen and tell us what you think.
Manifest! is out 6/5 via Fat Possum.

Hm, there is a working stream at the Guardian’s site:

And is it me or is the beginning of this album pretty weak (the awesome “Friend Crush” aside)? I have been seriously psyched about this album but was starting to get bummed by “A Thing Like This”–I also haven’t been grooving to “Mind Control” much, so I was starting to wonder if they were just not going to live up to the promise of their first two singles. But man, 5 songs in it really starts to pick up! That’s so weird.
(Also, “A Thing Like This” does seem like it could be a good song, but the cheap-sounding instrumentation is kind of ruining it for me so far.)
Change that to “…I was starting to get bummed by the time I reached ‘A Thing Like This’…”
