Belgian knob-twiddling crooner Dieter Sermeus has returned with Everybody Knows It’s Gonna Happen Only Not Tonight his followup to 2007′s Stars On The Wall. Just in time to cash in on Owl City’s success. Just kidding. We’re told the electro-acoustic collection’s “a celebration of sincere love.” You should be able to hear a bit of that in the smooth, hushed title track (complete with horns). Also, maybe I haven’t had enough coffee, but the vocal melody reminds me of (whispered) Jets To Brazil.

That said, I do love the art a lot and that’s why I listened…and I like this song a lot too! Very beautiful when the horns and pretty sounds come in.

Good stuff indeed. I liked the previous two albums as well. Pity they haven’t been able to create a lot of awareness. Not even in Belgium.

What is the deal with people that call Owl City a Postal Service rip off and still praise this guy?The music in every song he does sounds like it could have been on ‘Give Up’. The only reason he doesn’t sound exactly like them is because he doesn’t have the same vocal quality as Ben Gibbard -even though the style is perfectly aped. Don’t get me wrong. I like the music, but lets be fair. – Oh, I forgot where I was for a minute. Never mind.
