“She’s obviously crying! Let’s ask her for a photo!”

Reminds me of the time my friend asked for Gabrielle Carteris’ autograph at the Israeli Holocaust Museum. She said no.

What’s worse….the three girls that are star struck and want one picture or the dude who is probably 50 yards away with telephoto lens snapping off 100 pictures of her greiving?

  2. Grimmone  |   Posted on Dec 1st, 2004

Agree with Chaz. Pretty bad, people saw that she was upset and they should have left her alone!

  3. bitchmo  |   Posted on Dec 1st, 2004

why is she at niagara falls?? or did she find out while there?

  4. Who likes dirty mullets!

i have to wonder if the girls who post all those pictures on that messageboard have any clue they are the main resource for news/gossip for every damn blogger in america!!!!

I think she maybe on location shooting the Farrelly Brothers’ FEVER PITCH with Jimmy Fallon. It’s a comedy adapted from the novel by Nick Hornby, who also wrote HIGH FIDELITY and ABOUT A BOY

…or maybe not, what do I know?

I think one of the ladies in the picture who is “allegedly” trying to get a photo of Drew and Fab is her producing partner and friend Nancy Juvonen.

  8. I think that might be Nancy as well, though perhaps the girls were taking pictures of the falls rather than Drew. In the first picture it looks like they’re all one group. I’m not quite sure if the girl is snapping Drew or the scenery, at least based on how she’s holding the camera. If they were taking photos of her while crying then they are jerks.

Either way it sucks that the paparazzi is taking pictures of her crying. I’m pretty sure they aren’t looking at the falls.

    -big hugs for Drew-

  10. The location of those photos resemble a castle I went to in Portland, OR. Anyway, those photos made me a little sad.

    God Bless Her.

Damn it … Drew it HOTTT even when she’s crying, i would say curse her, but seems slightly inappropriate given her hotness.

It’s sickening that the paparazzi can’t leave this poor girl alone during the funeral. Does anyone know where I can get more of these pictures of her mourning?

Holy shit, you people are fuckin’ idiot hypocrites. You blog everytime Spears or Lohan takes a crap and you wonder NOW about obsessive stalking by the public? You think there’s a line to be drawn? You poor, deluded freaks. These people indulge in table service at clubs where a bottle of liquor costs more than what 99% of the WORLD makes in average annual household income. Remember, their fame and insane wealth comes from YOU. You pay ridiculous amounts of money at movie theaters, music stores (wait, you don’t actually buy the stuff, right?) and endure a barrage of soulless advertising to line their pockets. If you want to know what’s wrong with the world, why people hate Americans, and even the root cause of our own fucked-up economy, you can start with the inhumanely lop-sided distribution of wealth propagated by the entertainment industry. But hey, critical thinking like that would fuck up the good times, wouldn’t it?

I’m sorry but celebrities give up every privacy right when they accept the ticket to fame. There is NO exception. Pity for Drew Barrymore? Fuck you. Over and over. I kinda admire these girls and deep down you sick fucks do too.

  14. I love how there’s always at least one person who rants in every post about “the death of society” or “what it means to be a celebrity” or some shit.

  15. Not to be mean, but Drew is always crying. For reals. If one were to disqualify photo taking opportunities of her based on tears, well they’re wouldn’t be any photos of her at all.

Not that I would mind all that terribly much.

Marx, you underestimate us. If someone were to discontinue cheetos or red bull, we’d want the papparazzi to leave britney to grieve in peace. it’s called respect, dude. And, I hate to admit it but Amanda’s right. If you ever listen to her Donnie Darko commentary, it becomes clear that she’s pretty Planter’s.

  17. Mary-Elizabeth  |   Posted on Dec 2nd, 2004

Those awful people who didnt leave her alone and asked for her picture blah blah….putting pictures of her crying up on a website for our entertainment is no better.

  18. jenny  |   Posted on Dec 2nd, 2004

I saw a real nice big version of one of these in someone’s newspaper on the subway. because it wasn’t tacky enough to take them in the first place, the photog was then cool enough to sell it to an NYC rag.

  19. Hoyt Pollard  |   Posted on Dec 2nd, 2004

If you don’t want the public to see you cry, don’t cry in public. Just an idea.

  20. Guido  |   Posted on Dec 3rd, 2004

I have to agree with Marx & Spenser. I highly doubt that alot of you would be so defending of the celebrity in this exact kind of situation, if the celebrity were say… Shannon Doherty, or some other loathed bitch. I think the fact that Drew is perceived by the public as a sweet person or whatever, makes you people jump to her defense, where you probably wouldent if it was celebrity with a less favorble public persona, even in this situation. Hell if it were Paris Hilton crying in those photos, you would all be cheering. I would. haha

  21. well, picky picky people.
a person certainly doesn’t have to be famous for me to giggle maniacally at their grief and weeping…any average ol’ joe will do.

  22. i wonder if i would take pictures if i saw drew crying from 50 feet away, hmm…maybe i would

  23. What is the big deal? We don’t need to make this a controversy. Compassion is fine. Drew is famous- people feel for her- shit, we watched the girl grow up- even if she wasn’t famous though- she just lost her father. Mia

  24. HUGO  |   Posted on Dec 7th, 2004

too bad, it’s the price you pay for being a celeb.

  25. theodorefaron  |   Posted on Dec 7th, 2004

Drew didn’t have any choice about becoming a celebrity — she was born into the most renowned acting family in history.

  26. Guido  |   Posted on Dec 8th, 2004

Well she could have picked a different path when she was old enough too. She dident have to stay in the business. So she DID have a choice. I admire her professionalism about the whole thing though.

  27. yako  |   Posted on Dec 17th, 2004

    i’m confused i can’t get the link

  28. ashley  |   Posted on Jan 3rd, 2005

i wanna see that picture .. it wont work now .. does anyone have it .. please please send it to me

  29. Well well well…Sum1 forgot to take their Happy Pills :) Why do people always pick on Drew..??Never mind, don’t answer that 1, it’s because your’e all jealous of her acheivements and her shining personality. So what if she if famous..she’s famous for a good reason un-like sum people.I FUCKING HATE PEOPLE WHO TAKE THE PISS OUT OF HER . SHE’S A GOOD PERSON AND U KNOW IT!!!!!!!!

  30. When someone starts complaining to me about grammar, I listen intently. Not so much because I am entranced by yet another rant about the declining grammaticality of speaking and writing today, but because I am sure to hear an error in the speech of the ranter. Itâ??s almost inevitable. English is a slippery divil; the rules are lagging far behind the caravan, and the inmates are not only running the asylum, theyâ??re instituting managed care and turning a stupendous profit. English is messy, uninhibited, sprawling, and sloppy. Thatâ??s what I like about it. Itâ??s a miracle when a good stylist can take the unmangeable tangle that is our language and craft a sparkling, coherent, evocative sentence out of it. In Verbatim, we believe that good writers are good writers not because of the rules of English, but in spite of them.
