Ryan Adams - Live After Deaf box set

Fans of Ryan Adams have spent at least half a decade now waiting for the much-rumored/never-released 20:20 box set, which would finally unearth a ton of rarities, most notably all those in-the-vault albums that Adams “really wanted to be records”: The Suicide Handbook, 48 Hours, Pinkhearts, Darkbreaker, and Black Hole. And this past Tuesday, via his Facebook page, Adams announced that a box set WOULD be released … today! Of course it’s not 20:20 but something called Live After Deaf, which contains (per Adams’s Facebook), “144 tracks of live acoustic Ryan spread across 15 vinyl discs…with a download card featuring all 144 tracks PLUS an additional 74 digital-only bonus tracks (yup, that’s a total of 218 tracks) all in a heavyweight cloth box” available in “Super Duper limited numbers.” Adams tweeted that the set will cost $130-plus-shipping and weigh 13 lbs. Live After Deaf is available for purchase RIGHT NOW via Adams’s own PAX-AM label — which, it appears, has been crashed by fans clamoring to buy the thing. Keep hitting refresh!

  1. It’s really hard to see the font that “Ryan Adams” is printed in on the cover of this box set and NOT think of Nirvana. Probably not an accident either. I dunno..something just makes me think he still has a little crush on Kurt..
