The Flaming Lips And Heady Fwends was definitely one of the coolest contributions to Record Store Day 2012. The extremely limited double-LP set featured the Lips alongside a slew of notable guests (Bon Iver, Tame Impala, Erykah Badu, etc.), pressed on high-quality, multi-color vinyl. Next week, the collection gets a wide release (CD and digital) with one new track, “Tasered And Maced,” featuring Ghostland Observatory. This comes at the expense of one old track, “I Don’t Want You To Die,” featuring Chris Martin. You can check out the GO collab “Tasered And Maced” at Soundcloud now.

wow, that’s a pretty disappointing replacement for “I Don’t Want You to Die,” which I think was actually a perfect ending for that album. oh well.
No kidding
someone on Slow Nerve Action, a Lips fansite, said that legal redtape was to blame for chris martin not being allowed on the wide release. which sucks because Tasered and Maced sucks.
excellent closer, great replacement, couldve kept both though. i already Love this song.
