Up top is the cover art for Yeasayer’s forthcoming Fragrant World, a project that has already yielded the singles “Longevity” and “Henrietta” (as well as their accompanying trippy “vignettes“). Pre-order starts today on Yeasayer’s website, Secretly Canadian and iTunes and here are some deets on the deluxe packages, via the e-mail blast:
1. Uber Deluxe Package: Contains CD/LP/7″/Poster/T-shirt. This is the Yeasayer motherload. What we are really excited about with this package is the extremely limited 7″ (300 copies) that contains the title track “Fragrant World” that is not on the album — backed w/ a “No Bones” remix. This 7″ is pressed with glitter in the vinyl (awesome!) and though it’s possible some of these 7″s may skip you have to remember this is art man!!!
2. CD or LP: For those of you who have enough clothes and are not interested in 7″ singles. Includes free poster.
3. T-shirt only: For those of you who either feel music has no value or you actually visit record stores.
Now, you can bundle the shirt w/ a CD or LP because we like options. We also want to make you happy. So either go for the gusto or choose a la carte. A reminder that the album contains eleven (11) Yeasayer-y tracks and if you need a preview you can hear two tracks via our vignette visions.
It’s out 8/21 in the U.S. on Secretly Canadian and 8/20 in Europe on Mute.

it’s definitely a fleck of poo under a microscope
Can I get a version of the album in color?
It looks like a silhouette profile of Mokey from Fraggle Rock
Where are the guns? And explosions? And bigger guns making things explode? What is wrong with you kids today?
if you’re gonna troll, at least be funny
I am completely serious. What happened to the testosterone in rock music?
