  2. There is the very likely possibility of some new New Order dropping in the spring, as well. And a live Morrissey release (cd and dvd).

    Fo sho.

  22. Patrik  |   Posted on Dec 17th, 2004

AM I THE ONLY PERSON WHO IS EXCITED ABOUT PARIS HILTON’S POP MUSICAL DEBUT? ARE YOU ALL FOOLS?
    Have you no SOULS?

  23. Speaking of the above-mentioned Carl Newman and his merry band, Neko Case should have her new album in the Spring. ‘Blacklisted’ was jaw-dropping, and ‘The Tigers Have Spoken’ was the best live CD to feature only two previously heard tunes.

  24. That Sage Francis is killer. M83… less so.

  25. Justin  |   Posted on Dec 18th, 2004

The Chemical Brothers need to make this a solid album. The last LP was terrible (except for “Star Guitar”), and they are getting real irrelevant, real fast.

  26. nishita d. cat  |   Posted on Dec 18th, 2004

the first US mommy and daddy EP! they are calling “fighting style killer panda” and it’s out feb 15th!

  28. Jeff  |   Posted on Dec 18th, 2004

    The new Beck.

  29. The new Archer Prewitt is pretty smooth (in a good way).

The new Crooked Fingers is much less so.

  30. buttocks. tits. candy. vagggs

  31. cameron  |   Posted on Dec 18th, 2004

Antony & The Johnsons- I Am A Bird Now is going to be amazing.

  33. I second New Order and Bloc Party (but, @times, can you even tell the difference?)

My tip: Gruff Rhys-Yr Atal Genhedlaeth. Welsh language solo album by a Super Furry Animal, hell yes.

Oh and Caribou (formally Manitoba) – The Milk of Human Kindness

    Not the new Oasis.

  34. Jason Isbell from Drive-By Truckers (Solo) sometime next spring.

  35. yale bloor  |   Posted on Dec 18th, 2004

What about Ted Nugent!!!! after U2 can the motor city madman be far behind??? rumour mill – maybe Ted can take Dimebags place in Damageplan? Hopefully he will have a hunting accident before that happens..

  36. The Fiona Apple finally coming to us ?

  37. New Decemberists March 22nd…it’s awesome. Two tracks from it are on my blog today…

  38. De Novo Dalh – Cats & Kittens – Theory 8
The Sugarplastic – Will – Tallboy Records
Ash – Meltdown – Record Collection

  39. The new BECK album in February (reportedly). That’s gonna be hot.

    Also the Fiery Furnaces, yea.

  40. The new Ladytron and Junior Senior albums..

  41. Ugh, the new Sage Francis is pretty boring comparitively. Thankfully, for him, “Slow Down, Gandhi” leaked to the internet first. He needs the obligatory “good single” to leak in order to trick people (okay, to trick me) into buying that garbage.

Anyway…isn’t Devendra Banhart releasing an EP or something in February? If so, I look forward to that. My folk Jesus does little wrong in my eyes.

  42. the new mars volta record sucks…

  43. David  |   Posted on Dec 18th, 2004

The Ash record’s been out for a while in the UK, I love it. Having heard advances of the new Bright Eyes and …And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead, I’ll say I really enjoyed one and thought the other was just blah. Try and guess which is which!

  44. Lazlo  |   Posted on Dec 18th, 2004

Hey Yale Bloor: awesome screenname. Anyone else catch the HST reference?

    I’m excited for everything.

  45. Someone hooked me up with the UK edition of the Ash and it’s a good listen. The US edition will course have bonus tracks and a dvd and they will be touring in the spring.

and because i can’t type it should be De Dovo Dahl

  46. Wilson  |   Posted on Dec 18th, 2004

    Boards of Canada .

Anyone heard any rumours? I hope its released sometime in 2005.

  47. MeMe  |   Posted on Dec 18th, 2004

The Raveonettes’ new one is coming out early next year. I’m stoked and a half.

  48. bsilly  |   Posted on Dec 18th, 2004

    garbage – bleed like me

esthero – we r in need of a musical revolution ep / wikkid lil grrls

  49. J-Tron  |   Posted on Dec 19th, 2004

I wholeheartedly third the stoke for the new Beck album. Seriously, seriously so excited. Seriously.

  50. The Frames – Burn the Maps in Feb on Anti

  51. justone  |   Posted on Dec 19th, 2004

Airborn Audio ( M Sayyid + High Priest formerly of Anti Pop Consortium) debut album comes out Feb 22nd on Ninja Tune, looking forward to that as well as M.I.A., new Diplo, and Spoon

  52. ness  |   Posted on Dec 19th, 2004

i heard the new chemical brothers. do not fret my pets, it’s very solid. it’s actually amazing.

  53. The Bloc Party album has already leaked and is to be found on Soulseek… It’s really, really good !!!

  54. evan  |   Posted on Dec 19th, 2004

Grizzly Bear tour, new CD….they do it for me like no other

  55. tylla  |   Posted on Dec 19th, 2004

    STEPHEN MALKMUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  56. Jaclyn  |   Posted on Dec 19th, 2004

    30 Seconds to Mars

  57. Burn The Maps has been out since Sept in the UK, it’s good, but far from the Frames best album. i was surprised when The Onion said it was one of their early contenders for 05. i think i had it at like 25 or 26 on my ’04 list.

but if it gets more people turned onto the Frames, then so be it. just hope they check out their best stuff then, Dance The Devil, then For The Birds & Fitzcarraldo, all of which are better than Maps.

  58. Alyssa  |   Posted on Dec 19th, 2004

Thrice, Avenged Sevenfold, and the Distillers!

  59. has nobody mentioned eisley? out in feb. my #1 anticipation of ’05.

  60. dunford  |   Posted on Dec 19th, 2004

i’m anticipating the things i’ve yet to even hear of.

this year brought me the decemberists and arcade fire. i was late to the party on the decemberists, admittedly, but did any of you even hear about the arcade fire before this year?

i want the new buzz. that’s what i want for the zero-nickel.

  61. harmlessheartbreak  |   Posted on Dec 19th, 2004

    COLDPLAY.

what is wrong with you people?

  62. uhoh  |   Posted on Dec 19th, 2004

New Beck album yay! Hmmm…I saw the Fiery Furnaces at the Siren Festival this summer and I wasn’t impressed. Maybe they sound better in the studio? Crossin’ my fingers.

  63. For the vinyl fetishists …
Arcade Fire 12″ is out in Jan too!

  64. Curlywurly  |   Posted on Dec 20th, 2004

April – Garbage “Bleed Like Me”

    FINALLY!!!!

  66. devo  |   Posted on Dec 20th, 2004

the new Mars Volta (which is ridiculously good- a prog rock masterpiece)

    Roots Manuva

  67. new Sleater-Kinney out sometime in the spring, i think.

  68. The Information – Mistakes We Knew We Were Making

coming out late January/early February … finally!

  69. John Vanderslice – sometime in the summer.

  70. Nine Inch Nails

  71. sissnitz  |   Posted on Dec 30th, 2004

Some of the new releases you guys mentioned are available (full album) on some of the bittorrent sites. I have the new ones from the following:

Bloc Party – new album is very good, not much surprise based on their impressive EPs and singles)

Decemberists – great stuff other than a couple uninspired tracks, last song on the album is really cool)

Mars Volta – not so great (note: the recording quality of the files going around the internet are pretty low, but oh well, good enough to recognize that the music is just “eh”)

Sage Francis – not bad, not great either

  72. Kathy  |   Posted on Jan 20th, 2005

    Antipop Consortium is now;
The Mixtape is available at http://www.airbornaudio.net

  73. SweetMeat  |   Posted on Feb 21st, 2005

I just got Sage Francis’s Autograph tonight in Denver and on the side he wrote HST RIP what does that mean?????
