In Zola Jesus’s video for “Seekir,” a meditative dark-synthpop highlight from her 2011 album Conatus, Nika Roza Danilova takes part on a druidic dance party that appears to be taking place in the center of a sphere of blinding white light. It’s a piece of the sort of angelically mysterious imagery that Zola Jesus is so good at, and it fits the song beautifully. Jacqueline Castel directs. I also like how the letterboxing is in bright-white, just like in the “Big Pimpin’” video. Watch it below.
Conatus is out now on Sacred Bones.

Good observation on the white letterbox format. I love how white everything is. Most of her videos have been swamped inside black holes, It just makes everything look new. Also caught my eye: the last few seconds where the blinding light fades and you see that Nika is wearing a very babealicious outfit revealing her sexy legs.
