Earlier this summer, we heard the first track off of the new Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti album, the Donnie and Joe Emerson cover “Baby.” Today, we’ve got the first glimpse of original material from August’s Mature Themes, the twangy “Only In My Dreams,” a song radiating lots of AM Radio warmth. Thought the same thing, and I’ve had a hard time getting into the Pink, but between today has just been a monster for great new tracks.
For a split second I thought this would just be an update on Among Dreams, but this is gooood.

Great track for sure, but still, sadly, wondering if a song like “Round and Round” can be topped. Keep in mind this is coming from someone who thinks that some of the songs from his earlier catalogue were already better than a song like “Round and Round,” but I think it’s fair to say that it’s a hard song to surpass.
Changing my mind with more listens…this song is really great. I guess comparing anything to “Round and Round” just isn’t fair anyway. I can’t wait to hear “Mature Themes” and this song is getting better with each listen.
