Third Man Records will release recordings of the first ever White Stripes show — 7/14/1997 at Detroit’s Gold Dollar on Open Mic night — on vinyl this summer as a part of their Third Man’s Vault Series. Included in the package is a white vinyl 12” that includes “Lafayette Blues” and “Screwdriver” and a cover of Stooges’ “TV Eye.” It’s bundled with red vinyl 7” with recordings from that same show, a disc that features an early versions of “Jimmy the Exploder” and “St. James Infirmary Blues” as well as a cover of “Love Potion #9.” To get your hands on this stuff, sign up for the Vault and pre-order before 7/31 over at Third Man Records.
