The latest edition of AV Club’s Undercover series features Deer Tick covering Harvey Danger’s “Flagpole Sitta,” which fits vocalist John McCauley like a glove. “I loved that song as a kid, when it came out. I definitely saw Harvey Danger live,” says McCauley. Watch it below.
Previously, we saw Father John Misty cover “Do You Realize??”

Next up, “Jenny Says” by Cowboy Mouth.
Deer Tick such a horrible name for a band.
I read in an interview that John McCauley doesn’t even like the name. I love these guys but that cover was bad.
I like Deer Tick, but uh, this is bad.
I welcome more Deer Tick coverage here with open arms. But unfortunately I hate this song.
What did they ever do to you? I bet they cut off your legs, now you’re an amputee, god damn them!
Now Pinko, just because I noted I have arms doesn’t mean I am without legs. And who is the hell is they who you’re referring to? Harvey Danger? More importantly, who the hell is who? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kb5iCakPuxg
I never even knew who wrote this track until this post, but now that I know, what they did to me specifically is write a shitty song I was forced to listen to over and over again. One that I find akin to a Lit composition.

No, they didn’t cut off my legs, but they did perform this crappy cover, and then I listened to it.
Dang is that disappointing compared to their cover of “Beautiful Girls”
