“Mossy” is the chanty, percussive, spaced-out B-Side from polyrhythmic Brooklyn drum line Aa’s European-only Glossy 12″. It feels sort like an early Gang Gang Dance tribal circle piloted by a pack of angry Industrialists, Gregorian chanters, and Drum’s Not Dead (of course) Liars. The song’s set to appear with its Glossy A-Side “Glow Wreath,” etc., on the band’s next album, aka the first full-length release since 2007′s official debut LP GAame, a collection that arrived after a bunch of EPs, 7″ splits, one-sided 12″‘s, etc. They have all angles covers at this point: I like that their press brief mentions Aa’s live performances “now featur[e] multiple hybrid acoustic/electronic drummers, dense, laptop-generated soundscapes, heavily processed vocals, and a distinctive, starkly minimal light show.” Keep that in mind while you listen.

The Glossy 12″ is out via Altin Village and Deleted Art. It’s limited to 500 copies. Expect a bunch of stateside EP’s this year. One EP per season, we’re told. The first one will coincide with the season of SXSW, where the band’s playing some shows.
