Odd Blood (2/9, Secretly Canadian) is arguably front-loaded, yes, but when you’re listening to this joyful Caribbean-lined anthem it hardly matters. Download the single and its late-song Bee Gees breakdown for an email address at yeasayer.net.

  1. I’ve had it on repeat for an hour now

  2. you can tell by the way they use their walk, they’re ladies’ men… (with no time to talk)

  3. Personally I think this is one of the weakest on Odd Blood, I would’ve rather seen them release something like Rome. But then again, I’m sure ONE will turn some of the people who are the fence about buying the album. So it’s probably worth it.

  4. I’ve never listened to Yeasayer before, but I am in complete and utter LOVE with this song.

Odd Blood is actually very back-loaded, not front-loaded. Mondegreen is really funky with a mind-blowing outro, Strange Reunions is the best song on the album lyrically, and I can bust a move to Rome.

I think the album is strong overall, with the exceptions of “O.N.E.” and “I Remember.” They’re the only weak tracks, although, they’ve both started to grow on me.

Aw, that’s cute. Stereogum is pretending this album didn’t leak like over a month ago and we haven’t already heard it.

Yeah this album really isn’t front-loaded. Fun from front to back.

Dear band with the hideous album art,
i was hoping to check out this new song from you. then you asked for my email address…
i think we’re moving into this relationship too quickly. i hope to run into you again sometime.

    Best regards,
    Seayayer

  10. This album is the tits. Mostly because it was the complete opposite of what I expected after All Hour Cymbals. I listened to O.N.E 72 times according to iTunes and that was just in the first week. I got sick of it, but because of this post, I started jamming to it again. THANKS STEREOGUM! =)

  11. Ambling Alp just clear knocks my head off its perch. Like being hit by lightning. <3
I’m really glad they went in a positive, less apocalyptic direction.

Best song on the album, followed by Mondegreen. And far from being front loaded it’s one of the stronger start to finish records I have heard in a while.

  13. Interesting. I liked the album but didn’t love it (sort of disappointed at first). Now, I’m re-listening to it a month later, and I really love it. Yea(sayer) for a grower!

ONE is in the top three for my favorite Odd blood songs. In my opinion though, the album is great and worth buying.

This CD is so awesome. I don’t think the album is front-loaded at all, and I never listened to Yeasayer except for the Tightrope track from Dark Was The Night.

  16. I was a Yeasayer fan until this ablum, Key word there WAS.

The 80′s were shit and I don’t wish to remember, bands, please stop trying to bring back the 80′s.
