We’ve heard two tracks from Sun, Cat Power’s forthcoming album, and both “Ruin” and “Cherokee” embrace pieces of pop music that we might have never expected to cross Chan Marshall’s radar: textured synths, polished programmed beats, Auto-Tune. On his remix of “Cherokee,” the young ambient-electronic auteur Nicolas Jaar pushes those elements further, bringing Marshall into a dazed synthetic wonderland.
