We told you James Murphy was scoring (and cameoing) in Noah Baumbach’s Greenburg, which also stars Ben Stiller and Rhys Ifans, when not finalizing LCD Soundsystem’s anticipated, ostensibly slower, more rock-inclusive, and definitely vlogged about third album. The Greenberg soundtrack is out 3/22 in the UK via DFA/Parlophone. The movie’s out 3/26. In other DFA news: As you may have heard, Tim Goldsworthy has seemingly split from DFA. In a report at Resident Advisor, label manager Jonathan Galkin says Goldsworthy is still “legally” a partner, but isn’t really a part of the label or production teams at this point (more or less):
Tim Goldsworthy moved away to somewhere in the United Kingdom, without informing anyone here at DFA. We have had no word from him since he left the United States. So we moved on with our lives and our business. Simple as that. He most definitely took a piece of us when he left, but we wish him the best with whatever he gets up to next.
Goldsworthy doesn’t help sooth tensions with his explanation that a physical move doesn’t mean he’s actually left the label.
I haven’t left … If that was the case then, well, Murphy’s never there, cause he’s always touring or in the studio, so that would mean he left, I don’t know, nine years ago or something?
As if on cue: LCD Soundsystem hits the road in April.

I’ll listen to the soundtrack, but does the world really need another reminder of how difficult it is to be a 40something, upper-middle-class white man? The movie looks terrible. And I’m never going to be comfortable with Ben Stiller in dramedy roles.
well said. there was an article in the new yorker recently about JD Salinger and it said all people can relate to three books, two of which are the Great Gatsby and Catcher In The Rye. Really? All people in this country can relate to the difficulty of being wealthy and white?
ugh… why associate wealth and skin color to happiness and life crisis. I have read comments like this before and it just comes off young and arrogant. If you are in your mid forties white and upper middle class, you are not allowed to be spiritually lost? I am sure there are rich minorities, poor minorities, and young minorities, that go through similar things in life. Socio- Economic success has very little to do with feeling content. With that said, I think the movie does look like an eye roll and Ben Stiller FAIL.
