Annie did some L.A.-area duty last night, stopping into KCRW for a Morning Becomes Eclectic session before hitting the Belly Up for a headlining set with support from Swedish steel-drummers Wildbirds & Peacedrums. Andrew Youssef caught the show at Solana Beach and helpfully reports that she’s working with a Z Vex fuzz factory. For the guitar nerds. Pass through his shots, and have a pass at her performance of “The Strangers” from that KCRW session right here:

See you on Saturday, Annie.
I’ll bring my Fuzz Factory.
Saw her last weekend in Portland; made the mistake of catching the all ages matinee, which was at capacity with overexcited teenagers. Got stuck in front of what looked like a drama club kid with a voice like a pubescent Colin Meloy loudly singing along with every song (including/especially the quiet bits). Was worth it for her moments of amp-worship noise solo shit, and her charming monologue concerning her affinity for Ice Cube’s “It Was A Good Day” before the Nico cover.
Soooo hot, want to touch the hiney.
UUHHHM for future reference the Belly Up is in San Diego County
She’s so dreamy.
As always, great job Andrew!
Was there new material?
That left shoulder/bra-strap showing deal is hot. Would be hotter if she meant to do that and it wasn’t a wardrobe malfunction. The girl from Wildbirds & Peacedrums is also easy on the eyes.
No new material, she did a cover, can’t remember who it was she covered again, but it was quite something, especially with the single spotlight illuminating that hair!
When did she stop dressing up her backing band like little Cupie dolls?
