Moms, the new album from shifty, adventurous Pacific Northwestern indie duo, arrives in a couple of weeks, and we’ve already heard the early tracks “Heavy Is As Heavy Does” and “Capsule.” Now, here’s another one: A slow-pounding, regretful song called “Pique,” which eventually builds toward something resembling funk. It’s below.
Moms is out 9/18 on Barsuk.

Not sure I’d say ‘funk’ at the end, but yeah I mean, sweet rock nonetheless.
Hmmm, I was really hoping Brent leaving the band wouldn’t affect their sound too much, but I feel like the tracks I’ve heard so far off Moms are definitely lacking something. I guess I’ll be able to judge better after seeing them tomorrow and hopefully hearing some more tracks off of the new album.
I think the album is really great. However, for me, I think the Brent songs were my least favorite so I don’t really miss him all that much. He might have been their most ambitious member and he is def a really talented guy, so if you are into him it’s possible you won’t be feeling Moms as much.
I think it’s just as good if not better than anything they’ve put out.
This track is definitely not missing anything.
