The lurching, psychedelic Pittsburgh production unit Black Moth Super Rainbow will self-release Cobra Juicy, their new crowd-funded album, later this month. We’ve already heard the charged-up single “Window Smasher” and seen its awesomely ridiculous video. And now we’ve got another song from the album, a breezy burp of an electro jam called “Gangs In the Garden.” Hear it below.
Cobra Juicy is out 10/23 on the band’s own Rad Cult.

fuck yeah
It seems like BMSR’s sound is moving towards more of a garage-rockin’ skate-jam sound. Compare this to almost any track of “Falling Through a Field” and it’s pretty apparent that the identities of Tobacco and Black Moth Super Rainbow have finally merged. I wouldn’t say that’s a bad thing at all based on the singles I’ve heard off “Cobra Juicy.”
Just to clarify this was hardly a revelation I had while listening to the new tracks. Tobacco recently did an AMA on reddit and basically came out and said he was tired of feeling like he had to have a certain sound with each project. The whole AMA is worth checking out as is the prank call he has up on soundcloud.
