I wouldn’t have thought of it, but now that I think about it, Divine Fits’ excellent single “Would That Not Be Nice” is a prime candidate for remixes. It’s a strong central pulse with a serious hook and a lot of empty space, so it gives any potential remixers a lot to work with. And now the veteran underground rap producer (and Mad Men theme-song composer) RJD2 has stepped up to the plate, draining the track of much of its intensity but adding a fun, plastic ’80s synthpop bounce to it. Download the remix below.
Divine Fits’ great debut album A Thing Called Divine Fits is out now on Merge.

Now this is more like it. I was hoping Britt would use the opportunity with a new band to widen his musical palette, instead of recording songs that sound EXACTLY LIKE SPOON SONGS!!!!
I’d say Divine Fits is a little more loose and psychedelic than Spoon.
