Metallica’s Rick Rubin-produced Death Magnetic lands on 9/12, a Friday. When they released St. Anger off-cycle in 2003, the guys said it was to circumvent leaks, so it’s likely the same thinking here. (Sorry Metallica, Buckcherry will find a way around it.) Billboard has the story, where they also mention the video for first single “The Day That Never Comes” was shot by Dogma 95 dude Thomas Vinterberg.
