In Darwin Deez’s video for his fired-up fuzz-pop anthem “Free (The Editorial Me),” Deez plays a slacker bodega clerk who realizes he’s trapped in some kind of momentary Groundhog Day time-vortex. When he tries to break out of it, things get weird. Ninian Doff directs, and it’s a supremely lo-fi, low-stakes version of Looper. It’s good! You should watch it! It’s below!
Deez’s sophomore album Songs For Imaginary People is out 2/4 on Lucky Number.

The video was much better than the song. It was missing the quirky lyricism that made me like his last album.
