Yesterday, Hoboken indie greats Yo La Tengo released Fade, their utterly gorgeous new album. And last night, they celebrated that release by serving as musical guests on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. Former Trenchmouth drummer Fred Armisen, alongside another guy I don’t recognize, sat in on drums next to Georgia Hubley as the band played a slightly abbreviated version of “Ohm,” the album’s searching, percussive opener. And as an online bonus, they also played the hazy and drumless album track “I’ll Be Around.” With both performances, they affirmed that this is a band you should absolutely go see when they’re in your town. Watch both below.
Fade is out now on Matador.

99.9 percent sure the other drummer dude was Kid Millions from Oneida. He also sat in for the entirety of Night 4 of the recent Maxwell’s Hannukah run. There’s some well documented bro-love between the two bands. Such a killer tune.
Love that chord progression on “ohm”
Ohm is so cool
LONG LIVE YO LA TENGO
