Grunge elder gods Soundgarden released King Animal, a better album than anyone expected, last year, and they apparently still have some fire left in them. They’ve had a big few days. Last night, they played President Obama’s Inaugural Ball (check out photos above). And on Saturday night outside Philly, they debuted yet another new song — a slow-building, droning jam led by Chris Cornell’s acoustic guitar. Watch a fan-made video below; the as-yet-untitled new song starts around 3:30.
King Animal is out now on Seven Four/Republic.

the new song ends at 5:40, after that it’s straight into “Halfway There” from the new record
Although I’m a big SG fan, I do have to admit that Chris dressed like my grandpa did ten years ago at the Inaugural Ball.
