British electronic producer Gold Panda has been relatively quiet lately, though his moody and zoned-out productions continue to echo in weird places; check the sample on Charli XCX’s “You (Ha Ha Ha).” But he’s just announced the impending release of Trust, a warm and downbeat four-track EP that’ll be coming out in March. And the whole thing is already streaming online; hear all of it at Soundcloud.

Damn. He’s got such an original sound, it doesn’t seem like there’s anyone else out there doing what he’s doing. There’s an awesome npr interview with him where he deconstructs one of his pieces; it’s a good primer for a lot of people who use samples, and he makes a good distinction between what he does live and what others may do.
