Jenks Miller leads the Morricone-damaged doom band Horseback, whose self-titled LP was one of my favorite metal albums of last year. And he also plays guitar in Mount Moriah, a North Carolina country-rock band set to release their sophomore album Miracle Temple next month. The band, led by singer Heather McEntire, make sprawling and dusty road-trip music, but there’s just enough psychedelic bite that they remind me a bit of Black Mountain. I shouldn’t have to tell you that this is a good thing. Listen to their song “Bright Light” below.
