Beck’s “E-Pro” single, released officially last week, gets its first decent mashup (w/ Jacko and Janet’s “Scream”). MP3 here…

Also among today’s unlikely listening:

  • Stream “Trigger Cut” from Brown Brothers‘ forthcoming jazz tribute to Pavement. (Via Gary.)
  • Download . It’s a bad spoken word Duff bio over an otherwise cool new wave tune. (Via Sarah.)
  • Download Electric Six – “Dance Epidemic” at TTIKTDA. Reminiscent of an intentionally cheesy early ’80s song (e.g., “Higher And Higher,” “You Got The Touch”). I’m definitely DJing this at Movable Hype if Coolfer doesn’t throw me off the balcony for opening with Lionel Richie.

What the hell was that? i would file that pavement cover under weird for sure, i’m a huge pavement fan and that was a big dissapointment. sounds like linus from charlie brown just jamming, it sure doesn’t sound like pavement.

    4. wow man that jazz trigger cut is insanity — i can’t wait to hear the rest of the tracks

malkmus would get a boner over this stuff

    6. Dance Epedemic is AMAZING. It’s not Gay Bar, though.

Love “Dance Epidemic”â??the fuzzy funk riff is extremely reminiscent of The Gap Band’s “Burn Rubber (Why You Wanna Hurt Me?”) and “Early In The Morning.”
