As Autre Ne Veut, Arthur Ashin records queasy, gut-clenched bedroom R&B, sounding about a million percent more emotionally invested than many of the indie-soul types who have crossed our RSS feeds in recent months. Ashin’s new album Anxiety sounds like a vast whorl of confused feelings; it’s an album worthy of your time and your brain-energy. We’ve already posted the songs “Counting” and “Play By Play,” and now the whole thing is streaming at Pitchfork.
Anxiety is out 2/26 on Mexican Summer/Software. Check out our interview with Autre Ne Veut.

I hope this gets the attention it deserves (which is a lot). Truly incredible set of songs (all of them). Been on repeat for the past week (already pre-ordered on vinyl).
Album of the year so far.
This album completely delivers. I love how ANV holds absolutely nothing back – he sings the shit out of every one of these tracks.
I have been listening to this for about 3 weeks now and it just gets better and better. Absolutely love it.
