Last year, one Jenks Miller of North Carolina played guitar on an album of epic downer sludge: The self-titled joint from his Morricone-metal band Horseback. This year, he plays guitar on an album of lovely twinkly alt-country: Miracle Temple, the latest from his pastoral venture Mount Moriah. The boy has range! Mount Moriah, led by singer Heather McIntire, make gorgeous homespun front-porch music, and we’ve already posted their song “Bright Light.” Their new album Miracle Temple is very good, and you can now stream it at Pitchfork.
Miracle Temple is out 2/26 on Merge.

Just got a chance to listen to it. Agree with you Tom, very good album. Really like her voice.
After several repeat listens, I think it may be even better than their debut (and I love that record) but there’s still nothing that hits me quite as hard as “The Letting Go.” That said, it’s super solid and it’s making me homesick for NC.
