The Mountain Goats’ John Darnielle — who was recently an excellent guest on Marc Maron’s WTF podcast — has been a short ditty for Justin “Worst Birthday Ever” Bieber and his recent battle with the paparazzi. Darnielle notes that we shouldn’t necessarily feel bad for the Biebz and that there are certainly more pressing issues in the world than the whether or not Bieber can walk to his car in peace, it’s good for us to all stop being assholes to each other. I was inclined to side with John Darnielle and against the paparazzi, but after watching the actual video on TMZ, it’s clear that JBiebs and his body guard were the aggressors/assholes in this situation.
As someone who’s been on the wrong side of an asshole bouncer with a power trip, I can actually relate much more with the paparazzi in this situation.
Hmmm not sure I’m comfortable with JD meddling in these silly pop issues…
