Last night, after sets from Nick Cave and Café Tacvba, Yeah Yeah Yeahs played to a rapt audience at Stubb’s outdoor stage for NPR’s SXSW showcase. Sporting a bedazzled, bright yellow suit, one neon green glove, and a headlamp, Karen O led the band through a raucous 12-song set that included four cuts from the forthcoming Mosquito: “Under The Earth,” “Subway,” the title track, and first single “Sacrilege.” See the full performance and setlist below, and check out photos above.
01 “Mosquito”
02 “Cold Light”
03 “Under The Earth”
04 “Art Star”
05 “Gold Lion”
06 “Zero”
07 “Subway”
08 “Maps”
09 “Sacrilege”
10 “Cheated Hearts”
11 “Miles Away”
12 “Heads Will Roll”
I saw Owen Wilson there, but he left during the third song.
Mosquito is out 4/16 via Interscope.

Definitely digging Karen O in the blonde locks. It really brings out her Polish features.
Only thing missing from this story would be a line or two on how the new songs sounded. (Okay, okay, I admit it goes against everything I wrote yesterday, but I don’t have speakers or headphones to hear this on, and y’all down in Austin are the ears of temporarily hearing-impaired.)
Also, what does Owen Wilson have going on with his life that he ditches a YYY set three songs in?
Also, you read like you’re slightly tired, Tom.
The audio on this recording is awful. She’s badass though. That part definitely comes through.
Also, FYI, there’s apparently about six minutes worth of talking heads in this video, so if you want to just skip to the music go to the 6:15 mark.
She’s so fun. Love me some Art Star!
i dont understand the down vote on this
Looking forward to the album, but I’m not sold on the first song “Mosquito”. I’m not sure if it was the audio or that I just really didn’t like that song at all.
