Beyoncé posted an aggressive new song to Soundcloud today, “Bow Down/I Been On.” She simultaneously posted the above photo to Instagram. Check out the song below. It was produced by Hit-Boy, who also produced Jay-Z and Kanye’s “Niggas in Paris.”

my favorite picture of beyonce is when she played the superbowl and she had the pepsi logo as lipstick. the entire year prior to hocking sugar water she tooled around with michelle obama fighting childhood obesity and promoting healthy diets. good on you beyonce….

I can’t seem to take Beyoncé seriously when she tries to pull off this “Bow down bitches” line. She sounds like she’s trying too hard. Come on girl, there’s enough Angel Haze and Azealia Banks in this world, get back to what you do best.
Yeah, this isn’t doing it for me. It’s catchy, I guess, but in a Nicki Minaj kind of way, like an annoying earworm. Maybe it’ll grow on me.
The cover is hilarious, though, kudos on that one.

I get what Beyoncé’s going for here – sort of a “I’ve still got it even though I had that baby and shit” thing – but R. Kelly pulled it off way better in his post-throat surgery song, which is still probably my favorite song that someone wrote to assuage doubts about their ability to recover from throat surgery. And there’s like, lots of those, probably.

I spent the first half waiting for the hook, and the second half waiting for Beyonce to show up.
