Adam Levine: “People hated Creed. They don’t hate us. At worst, they just don’t really like us. Creed … had that attitude, they pontificated about how great they were, they had a horribly generic band. They were easy to hate and we’re just, you know, easy to disregard.”

Declaring “We suck less than Creed” does no justice to Maroon 5. Everyone sucks less than Creed. That’s like saying “I’m less evil than Hitler.”
I think it’s a safe bet to say that the suckiness of Creed and Maroon 5 are very comparable. Plus, now that Scott Stapp is a fat fuck and the band is no longer around, I can say I hate Maroon 5 more now than I do Creed.

I used to live in a Maroon5less universe (so I hated Creed more) until I joined the gym. When I get on the race track, this guy at the counter puts on this MTV DVD with 3 of their songs. I agree that maroon 5 is on the radio way too much, but besides that, I love them. I love the song This Love. I hate that there are so many people out there who just has something against a band just because they’re mainstream. So what if a lot of people listen to their music? Adam Levine can suck Scott Stapp’s balls. Stapp has more talent in his little finger than Adam Levine has in his whole band.
Those who say Creed sucks have no backing for it; sure, they can hate the band because of sickening radio play (but I must say I’ve heard Maroon 5 on the radio way more often than I’ve heard Creed) but Creed is actually made up of talented musicians (unlike some bands). Creed know their theory and know how to create good, catchy, rocking music that they are proud of and enjoy playing. Does that suck? Is there reason to hate that?
Levine shouldn’t insult another band for the purpose of rectifying his own. It only makes him look like an asshole with no self-confidence in his art.
