Iron And Wine – “Hard Times Come Again No More”
Iron And Wine have a new album called Ghost On Ghost coming out soon, and the two songs we’ve heard from it, “Lovers’ Revolution” and “Grace For Saints And Ramblers,” are both loose and jazzy things, far removed from the rootsy, wistful folk-rock that made Same Beam an indie-household name. So if you’ve been missing that old Iron And Wine sound, take heart; Beam has contributed a version of “Hard Times Come Again No More,” a song that Stephen Foster wrote in 1854, to Copper, a BBC America show about a 19th century New York detective. It sounds like the warm, thoughtful Iron And Wine of old, and you can hear it at Rolling Stone.
