Dan Casey a/k/a Yalls has been writing and producing electronic pop music in Berkeley, California for a few years now. In 2011, he released a self-titled tape with MJMJ, followed by a second full-length last year. He also has an expansive collection of remixes, with re-imagined versions of songs by Teen Daze, Majical Cloudz, the XX, and more. Most recently he posted the Voice EP online, full of drifting glitched beats and sampled voices that range from deep, wordless coos to ethereal pitched-up loops. “These voices aren’t mine but I’m singing with them,” writes Casey on his Bandcamp. “Currently working on an LP with my own voice but in the meantime enjoy this.” They’re some of his best tracks to date.
