De La Soul – “Get Away”
De La Soul, the great starry-eyed experimental pranksters of rap’s first golden era, haven’t released an album in nine years, though they’ve been an active live entity ever since then. Today, they break their long silence with “Get Away,” the first single from a planned album called You’re Welcome, set to arrive this fall. The song samples the intro track from the Wu-Tang Clan’s 1997 double-album Wu-Tang Forever, and it’s got the group doing a playful version of the anti-industry bellyaching that RZA was doing on that intro. Listen to the song at Rolling Stone.
