Yay to the Amusement Parks On Fire disc. I really like “Venus In Cancer”, “Venosa”, and “Smokescreen”. Going to see them live next weekend and I’m looking forward to seeing them.
On disc, it was just recorded by one guy who is like 20 years old. He’s now recruited a band to take on the road, but he recorded the whole thing himself originally. I don’t think it’s going to take the world by storm or anything, but I’ve found myself listening to it more and more on the iPod in the past few weeks.
I second the yay to APOF. Like a mix of MBV and Smashing Pumpkins (me thinks).

I’m just starting a petting zoo fire…thems llamas have hepatitis and shit…APoF, me likely. I didn’t know about the one-man-band aspect, makes sense though; Kev Shields and Will Corgan basically recorded solo aussi, right?

I second the name callout. Anyone want to start a band called Chucky Cheese Fire? No wait, how about Go Kart Explosion? I could go either way on the use of the word “The” in those names, just to keep things tidy.

It may only be me, but I hear a lot of Dino Jr. in APoF and not so much MBV or SP.
Stellastarr had their time and failed miserably on the debut, the problem with a major’s rush to sign the next big thing 2 years too late.
