I had a see-through Swatch in second grade and I thought it was the coolest fucking thing in the world. It didn’t have a Nasdaq ticker like this newfangled one, though.

Anyway, the acoustic show seems pretty cool, even if it is at Pianos.

Fifth grade (’89) — I had a Swatch that had a mirrored face. No numbers and glow-in-the-dark hands. It also had the clear Swatch-protector over it. Black band. I thought I was the shit. That and the fact that I finally got a pair of the Jordans…fourth year of Jordans. Still some of my faves: http://www.nike.com/jumpman23/air_jordan/product_detail.jsp?productId=104

Looking back I can’t believe my parents spent that money on me…

“King of America” is a pretty subdued, pleasant album.Certainly a little less vitriol than some of his records. For my money, “Get Happy”, “Trust”, “This Year’s Model” and either “Imperial Bedroom” or “Armed Forces” are essential.

For a birthday present some kid got me a watch that had an electronic airplane game on it! It was so cool. And someone stole it during basketball practice. :(

  4. I was poor, so I had no watch. but I wanted an armitron, the swatch for the rest of us. available at gold circle, hills, or sears.

  5. I couldn’t be more excited about seeing Futureheads in Raleigh tomorrow night! Hoping their live show kicks arse!

  6. since it’s an earlier show at Piano’s do you think there’s any chance in hell that The Futurehead’s show might not be 21+. I’d love to see them acoustic again but i’m not 21, also on the pass you get from swatch it doesn’t say anything about it being 21+!

  9. Here’s the best cover of American Girl you’ll ever hear: “Last Nite She Was An American Gurl” by Rookie Card. For everyone who thought it was Petty and not the Strokes the first time you heard “Last Nite”…. http://www.myspace.com/covermebadd

Aw man, now you made me go looking to see if they’ve released Parker Lewis Can’t Lose on DVD yet. And they haven’t. So now you need to go here and ‘vote’ for release by signing up for notification. No seriously, you need to.

I’m sorry, am I off on some tangent again? Ignore me please.
