Tom Cruise and Matchbox Twenty’s Rob Thomas are lovers!No doubt that anyone with an Internet connection has read about Tom Cruise being gay. According to rumor lore, he has had a long-time boyfriend in Chicago who is an Asian pilot for American Airlines. This is an accusation that Cruise and more importantly Cruise’s many attorneys vehemently deny.
There have been many stories that supposedly corroborate his sexuality but never a smoking gun. Rumor mongers attribute this to the fact that Cruise goes to great lengths to cover his tracks. We are told that everyone around him signs extensive confidentiality contracts with enormous penalties for indiscretion. (Exhibit A: the 8-page confidentiality contract Cruise’s housekeeper was forced to sign).
Such stories have been around for years and Cruise has evidently attempted to counter them with a series of high-profile heteronormative relationships. First, Nicole Kidman, then Penelope Cruz, and most recently Katie Holmes. In each instance, the “relationship” is actually a contract that gives the women a boost to their careers, a lot of money, and an elegant lifestyle.
Here is where this particular rumor gets interesting. Not long ago, Marisol, the wife of Matchbox Twenty’s Rob Thomas (who has had to contend with his own rumors of bi-sexuality) found her husband in bed with Tom Cruise causing Cruise’s people to shift into high gear.
First, Mrs. Rob Thomas was bought off for an undetermined sum.
Second, Cruise and his handlers set out to immediately find Cruise a girlfriend. Second-tier actresses were targeted. A list was drawn up with Jessica Alba (#1 pick) and three other girls who fell out for various reasons. Originally targeted (#3 I think) but later rejected as “undesirable” was rumor queen Lindsay Lohan. Way down at #5 on the list was Katie Holmes, but that was the one with whom they were able to strike a deal.Once the contact was signed, photo ops were set up, leaks were made to the right places, and we’ve had celebrity relationship on steroids ever since.
One thing I will credit this rumor for is how it nicely explains Tom’s behavior this past few months-including the couch jumping episode on Oprah. Cruise simply didn’t have time for the Holmes rumors to circulate at its normal speed and he couldn’t allow it to be second page news while the tabloids focused on Brad, Jennifer and Angelina. No, this relationship had to immediately become the “it” topic.
Well, that’s how we hear it.

Both are talented men, who have been very successful in their chosen fields. I really like most of Cruise’s films. I attended one of Rob Thomas’s concerts and was blown away by his talent. I have been to over 100 show and have never seen another artist who is as gracious, kind and respectful to his fans AND his band. I could care less who they are sleeping with. Unless is was me. Then I would care… a lot!

I heard this same story this weekend from someone that claims they are the assistant to Tom’s agent. So I looked it up and found this website. I always suspect this relationship between Tom Cruise, and Katie Holmes is a fairy tale. It developed all of a sudden, and so spontaneously, that It just didn’t seem sincere, and my instincts were correct,after reading all the previous posts that were stated above.
Like a lot of us I’m sure, I first heard this rumor and laughed and said “it’s just a rumor”, but of course it’s interesting so you have to check it out. He is going to be doing a show there next week and he told a radio program there yesterday that he and Tom had never hooked up and that he was more upset about being called a Scientologist than being called gay. June was Gay Pride Month so why don’t they just come out of the closet and be proud? Here is an interesting tid bit. I was at a wedding. The bride was a daughter of a senator so there was a bunch of politicians there. Well I was talking to this lobbiest who was obviously gay. He told me that he had an affair with Christopher Reeves back in the 80′s. Imagine that, Superman was gay.

My friend Jim W. had an affair with Thomas Gibson right after Thomas (also known as Tom 2) finished shooting “Far and Away” with Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman. The two Toms had an affair on the set, and the only one who wasn’t aware of it, at the time, was Nicole.
I heard about the Tom Cruise/Nicole Kidman thing being a fake contract 8 years ago from a friend who lived in LA, was roommates with some PR person of theirs. He told me back then the samefamiliar story that I keep hearing now–that they signed a contract, that they didn’t even live together, and that there were certain questions that were forbidden to be asked of TC like “Are you gay?” I am a physician and we all learned in medical school those fun medical facts like that Jamie Lee Curtis is a genetic male and that Tom Cruise has azoospermia (shoots blanks)–that’s a well-known fact in the medical field, and explains why they adopted children. With scientology you can’t use medication so I guess in vitro was out for Nicole Kidman. It’s kind of sad–she is an oscar winning fantastic actress but she basically sold her soul(and a decade of her life)to get there, and she has these two adopted kids she probably doesn’t even want. (Has anyone ever even seen pictures of her hanging out with them? The only pictures I ever see of her are the ones in the fashion pages looking like an ice princess) As for Rob Thomas–he seems very straight and devoted to his wife, but the story certainly does explain the urgency of the Katie Holmes thing. If it’s not true, how did the rumor mills come up with Rob Thomas? It’s pretty random. As for Katie Holmes–she is pathetic.
I have seen many pics in the gossip rags of Nicole and her kids. Plus she actually holds their hands and keeps them physically close, which I have yet to see their “dad” do.

Maybe Rob was a little too into his weed one night and things happened, who knows. But ever notice that Toms legs arms, chest and who know what else were waxed clean as a whistle in Eyes Wide Shut. That was the final clue. The title of the movie gave everything away. I am not clueless
Well, considering that two years ago, one of my film professor’s explained to in our “race, class and gender” course about how Tom Cruise is most definitely gay, I’m not too surprised. Apparently there was some big controversy a few years ago where some French paparazzi caught him and some guy going at it on video. Of course, his lawyers made sure that the story never saw the light of day, but anyone behind the scenes in Hollywood knows that he’s gay. It’s common knowledge.
And now that Nicole Kidman is reportedly purchasing a home near Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes is doing her part to act like the jealous fiance. Katie is upset that Nicole will be able to drop in with the adopted children whenever she wants. HELLO – Nicole and Tom did not live together when they were in their marriage contract; so it’s safe to say that Katie won’t be living with Tom after their marriage either! Good job with keeping your contract Katie – good acting!!
The reason why Tom can’t come out is because of Scientology. It’s forbidden, even if they know he’s gay. The same is true with John Travolta, another Scientologist. I know for a fact that Travolta is at least bi.
The thing is, rumors about Tom Cruise has been around since the beginning. When there’s smoke, there’s fire. You don’t see people going around talking about how Brad Pitt or Jude Law (who has done many gay roles) is gay. But you hear consistent rumors are Tom Cruise. His “marriages” (he divorced Nicole after exactly 10 years, for example) and the fact that he doesn’t have children of his own bring questions to the table as well.
The whole thing with him and Katie Holmes just smell fake. Honestly, they are actors but the acting here sucks…
Rob Thomas is definitely NOT having sex with other men, or women for that matter. He says that he adores his beautiful wife and I believe it through and through, you can just look at him and his wife together and know that they are a true couple.
As for Tom Cruise, I do believe that he could be having sex with other men…but where in the world the rumour mill decided to make Rob T. the partner is beyond me!!

There are some very astute observations on here. I’m impressed. I’m not into rumors, but I am intrigued by mob mentality. That said, there is a lot of fear of homosexuality out there and Scientology is all about helping rich people hide it for a price. You can’t feel bad for Nicole or Katie or Tom for that matter. They made the decision to do what they did. Those of you who KNOW Rob Thomas would never do this — KNOW this: Power is an aphrodesiac. And in this day and age – NOBODY would kick Tom Cruise out of bed. I find him utterly unattractive — but to have sex with him is to have power over him – and that’s like having control of the heavens. Even Rob’s not gonna resist a taste of that. The saddest thing about Tom though, is I would actually go see Tom Cruise movies if he came out of the closet.
Rob is definitely gay and way better looking than Tom. Tom is definitely a transparent, phony, a-hole and most likely gay. I saw this thing on E! about Tom and they were interviewing him. He kept laughing at his own jokes for like 5 min and it was the worst fabricated laugh Ive ever seen. He was so fake I wanted to puke and then throw out all my dvd’s starring Tom. Im gay and obviously I wish celebrities were upfront about their own sexualities cuz I think it would help make society become more accepting. However, I hope that if tom finally gets officially outed that it ruins his career, merely for the fact that everyone hates him for being a phony liar. I dont think it would hurt Rob’s career at all since everyone assumes he’s at least bi, it might even improve it. The first time I saw one of his music videos I thought he was gay without a doubt. I just read a lot of everyone’s comments so I probably will be all alone in my thoughts. But I just like Katie Holmes has been IN LOVE with Tom Cruise way back to Risky Business and The Outsiders which has been about 20 years. He may be short but he is a very handsome man. He could pay me and I’d sign the contract too!! LOL!! But nonetheless I don’t know if these rumors are true. I hope not, because that’s sad when God can bless a man with all them looks and (in my opinion) talent and he’d rather be intimate with another man. If he does come out, I will of course watch his movies but my heart will truly be broken.

I was trying to figure out why Tom was so manic about promoting this obviously set-up romance with Katie… and now it all makes sense!
