Finally saw Wedding Crashers. Pretty funny and not a bad soundtrack CD though it doesn’t include this classic heard during the “touch football” scene.

That’s right Forbes, Stereogum’s gone all classy on your ass!

Bonus Crashers tune ’cause I’m crazy from the heat:

Post your Isla Fisher screencaps in the comments.

  1. are these songs really in the film? Pretty sure i would’ve noticed Spoon and Robbers on High St–i was watching a bootleg tho heh. (first one bought ever, not bad really!)

  2. You were totally right about Eminem!

  3. The best song has to be Crumb’s Celebrity Judges. Great song.

“Knee-slapping riffs on the music scene”

Boy am I glad I’m not the only knee-slapper!

  6. Worst: Not updated daily.

    Forbes just can’t get enough!

  7. “Scott, you’re so famous!”

So are we. From the Forbes site:

“Check out biting feedback for the new Whitney Houston-Bobby Brown reality show.”

  8. Aw crap, I never posted in that one.

  9. Isla Fisher’s best line:
    “Cuz I’ll find youuuu!”

Also, Rachel McAdams has to be the most pale-skinned actress in recent memory. Maybe because she’s Canadian? I dunno.

  10. three words I never thought I’d see on stereogum, but I’m kinda glad I did, “Dave Brubeck Quartet.”

  11. how about in wedding crashers when isla fisher throws a temper tantrum on the dance floor because she wants her dad to let vince vaughn come home with them. hilarious

no doubt about the brubeck goodness, and he isn’t even on merge…

I just saw an advance screening of “Must Love Dogs” and “I Never” by Rilo Kiley is in the movie. They are ALL OVER THE PLACE. Luckily for me, I still love them.

  14. I was dissappointed to find that less than half of the indie trax on the “Wedding Crashers” soundtrack are actually in the movie. The Robbers on High Streets song doesn’t show up until the end of the end credits! I did like the Brubeck track (gotta love Brubeck!) and the film itself was good matinee-price fare. But c’mon! I’m sick and tired of the odd practice of putting songs on a soundtrack that make no appearance in the film. What’s with that?

its astounding to think how many people read this blog and the comments in it.

the soundtrack actually says “music from and inspired by the film.” the film was obvious inspiration for the flaming lips’ “mr. ambulance driver,” about wayne coyne fantasizing he was the one in the ambulance about to die.

“Also, Rachel McAdams has to be the most pale-skinned actress in recent memory. Maybe because she’s Canadian? I dunno.”

This is a good thing. Pale = good. Leather complexion = awful.

Out of all of the ‘indie rock’ songs on the soundtrack only The Weakerthans, Robbers on High Street, and Guster (not indie? fo sure!) actually appear in the movie and the first two are in the ending credits. WEAK!!! right?

The Crumb “Celebrity Judges” pick was fantastic but it did not make the album. Saw Robbie and Mark one for 3 Eye Blind at Bimbo’s back in 1997. Bummed they broke up after Second>Minutes.Hours

  28. kyrkos  |   Posted on Aug 17th, 2005

Looking for a ballad-ish song playing during the end titles – at first I was sure it was Coldplay but wasn’t, though the singer’s voice sounded a bit similar. The band had a four-letter name, I believe, which I can’t quite remember right now. Thanks :)

There are three songs in the end credits of the movie, the first is ‘Aside’ by The Weakerthans, then there’s one i don’t know, and the last is ‘Love Underground’ by Robbers on High Street. I really really want to find that middle song. the chorus: ‘coz you’re my sweetheart….’

  37. Heather  |   Posted on Nov 30th, 2006

Are you sure the song when Rachel McAdams tiptoes to Owen Wilson’s room is by Coldplay? The songs lyrics (Sparks) doesn’t even say anything about “I saw stars” What’s the song/artist?

  38. Ashley  |   Posted on Dec 5th, 2006

Yes because its SPARKS…. NOT STARS!
