Washer – “Fleas” (Stereogum Premiere)
Washer are a Brooklyn duo who come from the same group of NY musicians that went on to form Flagland and Big Ups. They’re not quite as well known as those (the latter of which got Album Of The Week last month) but if they keep making songs as good as “Fleas,” the first single off their upcoming debut EP, it won’t be long before that changes. It’s as stripped down as you’d expect from a two man rock band, but Mike Quigley and Keiran McShane manage to detail the track with many winning touches and slight change-ups.
